Procedural Guide
Procedural Guide
Students who are eligible to receive special education services are guaranteed a free and appropriate public education (FAPE). Federal, state, and local mandates provide a vast array of requirements that special educators must follow when implementing the programs designed to provide students with FAPE. These mandates are extensive and often confusing. The overall purpose of the SCUSD SELPA procedural guide is to provide personnel with a detailed resource for the implementation of special education procedures focused on the identification, assessment and appropriate provision of FAPE in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
